Co-design

At Tover, we develop for and with our target audiences. We are convinced that our products can only truly meet the needs and requirements of our target audiences if they play an important role in the development process. Therefore, all games are developed in co-design: in close cooperation with care professionals and the players.

What does the co-design process look like?

For each of our players' groups, we have a design team that focuses specifically on one target audience: seniors or adults. The design team makes frequent visits to our co-design locations where the players live, learn or spend the day doing activities.

Step 1

Our designers have their finger on the pulse of developments in the field. They listen to and engage in conversations with care professionals, teachers, volunteers and family members of players. They run sessions to get their input for new ideas. Our development team then uses this information to build prototypes for games or even new hardware.

Step 2

The designers return to the co-design locations with their prototypes ‘under their arm’. What works and what doesn’t?

Step 3

The changes and insights are used to build a new prototype. And again, extensive game tests are carried out at multiple locations. The design and development team continues testing until they are confident with the results. Not only on paper, but also in practice. This way, we’re left with only the best-in-class games.

Step 4

Universities and colleges conduct scientific research into the effects of Tover’s games and products. The studies that are performed focus on the effect on the players as well as on their care professionals and supervisors. Many different studies have repeatedly shown the beneficial effects of the Tovertafel.
