Beach Ball

As the brightly coloured beach ball rolls across the table, it’s almost impossible not to reach out and push it back. Passing it back and forth creates a lovely shared focus and a bit of playful connection. The ball cannot fall off the table, so there is no risk involved — just movement and connection!

Tips

Make the game more fun

• Place inflatable goals on the table for an extra challenge.
• Give the player a soft foam tube to hit the ball with.

Players do not just observe the game, but must also be able to focus their attention on it. There is no goal to work toward; it’s a gentle first step into active play at each player’s own pace.
